Vintage fur – good or bad?
May 25, 2009
My silly little soul is awfully confused with this dilemma: is vintage fur good or bad?
On principle, I’m against fur. But then vintage fur is a tad different story. I mean, the garment has been produced decades ago and the poor little animals have already given their lives to satisfy man’s vanity. Giving a vintage fur garment a new home is a way of making sure that they didn’t die in vain? Right?
Also, by buying this item off a gorgeous burlesque performer friend, I am (and I quote) ‘helping a poor showgirl eat‘. See, its for a good cause after all. *grins*

Generally, those poor little animals tend to be already dead when the fur is ready for sale, even when it’s new fur :-P

This is true. However, I don’t think my purchase is likely to have a beneficial effect to today’s fur trade any more than it will encourage the slaughter of further fluffy beings…

You increased the resell value of used fur, contributing to the economy as a whole… :P
